What this tool does with your data

CodonTuner runs entirely in your browser. Sequences you paste or edit are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to, stored on, or logged by any server we operate. There are no user accounts and no sign-in.

Local storage

To avoid losing your work on an accidental refresh, your current sequence and any named versions you save are kept in your browser's local storage — a form of storage built into your browser, not a server or database we operate. This data stays on your device, persists across visits until you clear it, and is never sent to us or to anyone else. Clicking "Clear all" in the editor removes it immediately.

Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics (such as page view counts) to understand overall usage of the site. This does not include the content of any sequence you enter, and is not tied to any personally identifying information.

Cookies

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Any cookies set are strictly limited to what's required for the site to function.

Changes to this policy

If how this tool handles data changes in the future (for example, if we add optional account-based saving), this page will be updated to reflect that before the change takes effect.
